Professional social networking platform LinkedIn is adding artificial intelligence (AI) tools to its platform to enable users to write descriptions for their profiles and job postings. In Q1 2016, LinkedIn reported earnings of $861 million. LinkedIn shares were trading up nearly 50 percent, while Microsoft was down five percent, according to CNBC. It’s Microsoft’s biggest deal up to date, and also the firm’s CEO first major acquisition (as noted by The Verge). The deal was announced in pre-market trading this morning. Valued at 26,2 billion, LinkedIn is not cheap. The all-cash deal is worth just over $26 billion.
